Printer Won't Print? Complete Troubleshooting Guide

Problem
Your printer shows as 'Ready' but won't print documents, or print jobs are stuck in the queue and won't clear.
Solution
Step 1: Basic Checks
- Check connections: USB cable or network connection secure
- Check paper: Ensure paper tray is loaded and not jammed
- Check ink/toner: Replace if low or empty
- Check power: Printer is on and not showing errors
Step 2: Clear Print Queue
- Press
Windows + Rand typeservices.msc - Find Print Spooler, right-click, and select Stop
- Open File Explorer and navigate to:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS - Delete all files in this folder
- Return to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start
Step 3: Set as Default Printer
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners
- Click your printer and select Set as default
- Uncheck Let Windows manage my default printer
Step 4: Update Printer Drivers
- Go to Device Manager
- Expand Print Queues
- Right-click your printer and select Update Driver
- Choose Search automatically for drivers
Step 5: Reinstall Printer
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners
- Select your printer and click Remove Device
- Click Add a printer or scanner
- Select your printer when it appears
Network Printer Issues
If it's a network printer, ensure your computer is on the same network and can ping the printer's IP address.
